Ending Homelessness in the Fox Valley

Surviving to Thriving

When Laura finally escaped the confines of the abusive environment she lived in, she began the process of taking her life and identity back. This is where the community and organizations like Harbor House and COTS were able to help. At COTS, Laura reignited her life’s passions that were taken by a cycle of abuse. “There’s an incredible agenda there. The structure, routine, financial classes, and connections to resources are just wonderful.”

Today, Laura is living independently and thanks COTS’ Aftercare program for helping her get here. She stays busy using her creativity in community service, and offering her story and experience as motivational speaker/mentor for current COTS residents. “I’m thriving now! I’ve successfully come full circle and found my voice. I want to encourage all the residents to take advantage of COTS. Learn. Manage. Grow. Where ever you are on your journey, you can trust that COTS has your back.”
