Ending Homelessness in the Fox Valley

Covering more Ground

Posted on May 5, 2021 by

For over 20 years, COTS has served our neighbors in the Fox Valley experiencing homelessness. We’re lucky to be part of the larger continuum of care that supports those who need it most in our community. Working in tandem with local crisis agencies, COTS provides the next step towards self-sufficiency and living independently.

In August 2020, COTS expanded our services into the Oshkosh community. Our expansion came in conversation with our community partners and in response to increasing need for our programming. Oshkosh is home to almost 200 people who go without services every day of the year. Many of these individuals have their immediate need for shelter met by local crisis agencies, but when they’re ready to take the next step, might find themselves unable to qualify for or afford a lease on an apartment, or find that low-cost housing rentals have years-long waiting lists.

Our first transitional shelter in Oshkosh, with a capacity for 8 residents, serves women. Since opening our doors, 15 individuals have called COTS home.

COTS remains committed to our vision & mission: ending homelessness in the Fox Valley. Now, thanks to our incredible community of supporters and partners, we’re able to cover a bit more ground on our way to ending homelessness for good.
